CCSF is a collaborative platform of the Church and Civil Society Organization (CSOs) formed to address the absence of a national institutional, policy and legislative framework to address past injustices and human rights violations. The CCSF conducted nationwide consultations jointly with government from November 2009 – April 2010 on Non- State Actors minimum standards regarding the content, process and framework for national peace and reconciliation Zimbabwe.
Harare -20 March 2015,the Church and Civil society Forum (CCSF), a collaborative platform of the church and civil society organizations, whose mandate is to advocate for the development of a national policy and legal framework for peace and reconciliation, applauds the Parliament of Zimbabwe for moving a step closer towards the operationalization of the National Peace and Reconciliation and Commission (NPRC) through the short listing and invitations of potential Commissioners for interviews on 25 March 2015 .
Article 7 of the Global Political Agreement (GPA), established the Organ for National Healing, Reconciliation and Integration (ONHRI) with the mandate of “Promotion of Equality, National Healing, Cohesion and Unity”. Non – State actors, through their participation and membership in the Church and Civil Society Forum (CCSF), forged close collaboration with ONHRI on efforts to seek stakeholder input towards development of a national peace framework.
This document is the result of an extensive exercise undertaken in Zimbabwe by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Zimbabwe, in collaboration with EU Member States and civil society organizations in the country, in particular the umbrella organization NANGO1 in the months of March to June 2014.

20 February 2014 – The EU has today announced its decision to suspend most remaining restrictive measures in place against Zimbabwe, with the exception of those measures against the Head of State, President Robert Mugabe, and his spouse. The arms embargo and restrictive measures against one entity – Zimbabwe Defence Industries – are also maintained.
It was also announced that EU will resume a development relationship with Zimbabwe as of 1 November 2014.
